Instead of large-scale hill cutting, the design allowed the built form to integrate naturally with the terrain, preserving slope stability, reducing excavation and reinforcing architectural harmony with the landscape.

To respond to inconsistent soil bearing capacities, weathered rock and local shear zones, the firm developed a comprehensive piling strategy. This included deep piles, isolated and combined pile caps for structures on slopes, rock-socketed piles where refusal strata were encountered, and extensive pile load and integrity testing to ensure uniform load transfer and long-term performance across varying elevations.

Hill stabilisation formed a critical component of the engineering scope. Measures included engineered granular backfilling, touch piles for vertical elements, retaining structures with shear keys and geogrid-based soil confinement. The design also incorporated counterfort RCC retaining walls, soil nailing for deep cuts, staged excavation methods and robust drainage systems to manage hydrostatic pressure and maintain stability during construction.

Terrain-driven engineering solutions further optimised constructability. These included designing voids between column foundations to avoid unnecessary soil filling, adapting superstructure systems to site constraints, optimising column spacing to minimise disturbance to the hill, and strategic column placement to reduce dependence on piling.
